Dr. Mridul Chakarvarty
Orofacial Pain Specialist
Dr. Mridul Chakarvarty, DDS, DABOP, is an orofacial pain specialist who brings together advanced clinical training and a deeply patient‑centered approach to care. She earned her dental degree from NYU College of Dentistry in 2014 and then spent a decade practicing general dentistry in Austin and Houston, where she repeatedly met patients whose chronic facial pain and TMJ symptoms were not being adequately addressed. Those experiences led her to pursue focused training in orofacial pain so she could offer more effective, evidence‑based solutions to this underserved group of patients.
Dr. Chakarvarty AKA Dr. C, went on to complete a two‑year residency in Orofacial Pain at the University of Kentucky, gaining extensive experience in the non‑surgical management of Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) disorders, neuropathic pain conditions such as trigeminal neuralgia and burning mouth syndrome, and headache disorders. She is board certified by the American Board of Orofacial Pain and by the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, reflecting a commitment to rigorous standards and ongoing professional growth in her specialty.
Patients often describe Dr. Chakarvarty as warm, attentive, and thorough. She is known for listening carefully, asking thoughtful questions, and explaining diagnoses and treatment options in a way that feels clear and collaborative, helping patients feel more informed and in control of their care.
Originally from Calgary, Canada, Dr. Chakarvarty lives in Austin with her husband, Manan Kathuria, their son, Kabir, their daughter, Meera, and their dog, Ollie. When she is not with patients, she enjoys running, family hikes, trying new restaurants around the city, and spending time on pottery, all of which help her stay creative.
