Understanding Your Medical Insurance Coverage
Coverage for facial pain, TMJ disorders, and obstructive sleep apnea varies by insurance plan. TMJ disorders are medical conditions, not dental issues, and dental insurance is not used for TMJ services at our clinic. We bill medical insurance only. Coverage for TMJ treatment is often limited, with some plans covering surgery only or including TMJ exclusion clauses.

How We Work With Insurance: Central Texas TMJ Facial Pain & Sleep Center is a medical insurance-based practice with a fee-for-service component. At this time, we bill most plans as out of network and assist patients with benefit verification and reimbursement. Our goal is to provide access to care while we complete credentialing with additional plans.
